Golf tournament benefits preschool
A May 7 golf tournament at the Hapuna Prince Golf Course will raise funds for a new swing set at Ka Hale O Na Preschool.
Cost is $150 per person for a four-person team scramble. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. A reception, silent auction and lunch will follow.

First culinary luncheon at Palamanui
Hawaii Community College Palamanui will host a culinary arts luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Cost is $20.

Grant available for student with disability
The University of Hawaii at Hilo Scholars with Disabilities Achievement Grant recognizes a student with a disability for his or her superior scholastic performance. The grant is for a student who plans to enroll or is enrolled at UH-Hilo for the fall 2016 semester.
The student may be enrolled either full- or part-time, have a 3.0 GPA, and be a qualified student with a disability.
The application deadline is May 16.

IHOP Hawaii names district manager
IHOP Hawaii has appointed Adrienne Anderson as district manager for the Big Island. She will be responsible for overall operations and training for IHOP’s locations in Hilo and Kailua-Kona at Prince Kuhio Plaza and Lanihau Center.
Anderson was most recently training manager with IHOP in the Phoenix metro area, where she opened several IHOP locations and operated the highest performing restaurant in sales for the franchisee. Prior, she was general manager of Ruby Tuesday in Phoenix and assisted with openings of the chain’s locations in Arizona and California.
Anderson has an associate’s degree in business administration from Mesa Community College in Arizona.
Freemasons to meet
The Kona Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons will holds its monthly state meeting May 4 at the Kona Masonic Center, 73-5577 Kauhola St., in Kailua-Kona.
The evening begins with a dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7.
All members of the craft residing are invited to the dinner and meeting.
